This is underscored with hints of vanilla and almond and a touch of nutty toffee, from the Madeira cask inclusion. Finally, you’ll uncover classic Glenmorangie fruits, with peach and pear.

Description: Revisiting a pioneering experiment from his early career, our Master Distiller – Dr Bill Lumsden – was keen to explore what would happen to this expression if a portion was finished in Madeira wine casks. The result was spectacular – a single malt that expertly gilds Glenmorangie’s classic fruity tones with heady sweetness and spice. The Altus 25YO showcases our classic house style, with a jewel in its crown. The journey started with “what if”, as every Glenmorangie creation does. With this mindset, we matured our signature spirit for 25 years in bespoke bourbon casks, made especially for Glenmorangie. The result was worth the wait – a gloriously well aged whisky, its flavour magnified. Driven to reach even more decadent heights, we then married this whisky with a Madeira wine cask finish, elevating its profile as classic fruity tones meet heady sweetness and spice. One of the very first people to sip this exquisite new expression? Glenmorangie’s biggest fan, Harrison Ford. When he spent time with the Distillery Team in Tain, he was lucky enough to sample this quartercentury expression, before it had even left the distillery to be bottled! His response was as you might imagine… “NICE.”
